How to Become a Follower of Jesus Christ

Most people believe that religion will get them into heaven. If you believe this then hear the words that JESUS spoke to the Pharisee Nicodemus; "I tell you the truth, unless a man be born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God." (John 3:3). Nicodemus was as religious as anyone could be, but his religion could not save him from the condemnation of SIN. (John 3:1-21)

All people have the same common problem, whether we admit it or not. We are sinful (Romans 3:10 & 23) and therefore we are separated from God; because God is Holy, and He cannot and will not allow sin to go unpunished. The Bible tells us that "…the wages of sin is DEATH!", (Romans 6:23a).  That's the BAD news…but there is also some GOOD NEWS! (Romans 6:23b) "…but the GIFT of God is Eternal Life through JESUS CHRIST our Lord". God loves you so much, that rather than let us go, and suffer an eternity in hell - He offers us a way out! (Romans 5:8) "But God showed His own love for us in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us".

Jesus did the hard part! He paid the price for our sins on the Cross of Calvary. He suffered death in OUR place, so that we might have eternal life through believing in Him; (John 3:16) "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son,, that whosoever believeth in Him would not perish but have everlasting life!".

 If God is convicting you of your sins, and you do not know FOR CERTAIN where you will spend eternity, understand that you CAN KNOW right now!  (Romans 10:9)  "If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in your heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved".  (Romans 10:13) "For whosoever shall call upon the Name of the Lord SHALL BE SAVED!".

Dear Lord,

I know that I am a sinner, and I confess my sins to You now. I believe that You died on the Cross for me, and that You rose from the dead, so that I may live through faith and trust in You. Please forgive me of my sins, come into my heart and be my Lord and Savior. Thank you for saving me, and help me to live my life each day for You.
